Default loading and your choice
Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra advertising load on the first page view, before you press anything. The gameplay clip uses a click-to-load facade: no YouTube player request is made until you click the video button. The cookie notice is a notice and a withdrawal control, not a gate: it appears on a first visit while those scripts run. Pressing Reject stops measurement, recording, advertising and video playback, stores rejected in localStorage for 180 days, and later page views do not create the Clarity or Adsterra scripts at all. Pressing Accept leaves them on and grants Google advertising storage. Ignoring the notice allows script loading but is not saved as acceptance and does not grant Google advertising storage. A true navigator.globalPrivacyControl signal is treated as Reject.
Reject removes the placements and reloads the document to terminate vendor timers. The Google tag library remains downloadable, but the GA opt-out flag is set before configuration on a remembered rejection. Google may still make tag diagnostic requests to www.googletagmanager.com; no GA page-view collect request was observed after Reject. It cannot recall a request that was already sent before you pressed Reject. Reopen the notice any time with Cookie settings in the footer.
Third parties that load
Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — measurement ID G-STCY1NX7DZ. The tag file loads from www.googletagmanager.com, and hits go to *.google-analytics.com. Google receives the page URL, your IP address, user agent, referrer and basic device data. Consent Mode v2 is declared in the page head before the tag is configured: the three advertising signals start denied, while analytics_storage starts granted, and ads_data_redaction is enabled. Only Accept grants advertising storage; Reject updates all four signals to denied before configuration on later visits. GA4 writes first-party cookies _ga and _ga_STCY1NX7DZ, with retention of up to two years, to tell return visits apart. Purpose: count page views and see which guides are used. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in aggregate measurement; you may object with Reject. Google Privacy Policy, how Google uses site information.
Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) — project ID z2ai2orh9s. The loader script is created on the first page view and fetched from www.clarity.ms/tag/z2ai2orh9s; recordings and heatmap data go to *.clarity.ms. Microsoft receives the page URL, IP address, user agent, referrer, clicks, taps, scrolls, pointer movement and page rendering timings. Clarity writes first-party cookies _clck (about one year) and _clsk (about one day), and may set Microsoft cookies such as CLID and MUID on its own domains. Provider masking and recording controls apply; avoid entering sensitive information in site inputs. Purpose: see which parts of a guide are hard to use. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the site; you may object, or ask what was recorded, at the contact address. Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Adsterra (Adsterra Network LP) — publisher 3403020, website 6145166, ad-serving host bicea.org. Two placements run: a Native Banner, NativeBanner_1 (unit 31886515), in the content column, and a Social Bar, SocialBar_1 (unit 31886516), fixed at the bottom of the viewport. Both script tags are created by page script on the first page view and are absent from the HTML we send. Once loaded, Adsterra receives your IP address, the page URL, referrer, user agent and viewport size, and may set its own cookies on bicea.org or through creative served by its partners. Provider cookies may include Cloudflare's __cf_bm (about 30 minutes) on bicea.org, and the Social Bar's sb_main_* and sb_count_* frequency-cap pair. Adsterra owns those names and may change them. Adult advertising is switched off at the website level, and no popunder, banner or Smartlink format runs here. Purpose: fund the guides. Use Reject to object to delivery. Leaving a default enabled is not an affirmative consent action. Adsterra Privacy Policy.
YouTube (Google LLC) — only pages that carry the gameplay clip. The player is created only after a video-button click from www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/LKLRKK3ez5Q; Reject removes it. YouTube may receive your IP address, browser and device data, referrer and the video request, and may set its own cookies or device storage; retention is governed by Google. Privacy-enhanced mode reduces but does not eliminate Google processing, and the player can show ads. Purpose: show the cited playthrough. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in illustrating the puzzle, with an easy withdrawal. Google Privacy Policy, YouTube Terms.
No other advertising network, tag manager, font CDN or social embed runs here. Fonts are self-hosted from this domain. There is no Google AdSense, no Meta pixel and no affiliate script.
Cookies and browser storage
| Name | Set by / where | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
mc_consent | This site, localStorage | JSON {choice, ts, v:1}: granted or rejected | 180 days, then the notice can appear again |
mc_socialbar_closed | This site, localStorage | 1 once you close the Adsterra Social Bar, so it stays closed after a reload | Until you clear site data |
_ga, _ga_STCY1NX7DZ | Google Analytics 4, first party | Distinguish a returning browser and keep session state | Up to 2 years |
_clck, _clsk | Microsoft Clarity, first party | Group page views into one recording and link sessions | About 1 year and 1 day |
CLID, MUID | Microsoft, on Microsoft domains | Identify a browser for Clarity and other Microsoft services | Set and kept by Microsoft |
__cf_bm, sb_main_*, sb_count_* | Adsterra / Cloudflare, on bicea.org | Bot protection, frequency cap and delivery measurement for the two placements | __cf_bm about 30 minutes; the rest set and kept by Adsterra |
Adsterra's own session and frequency-cap cookies appear only when a placement is filled. Because the vendor owns those names, its privacy policy is the authoritative list. The site itself writes only the two localStorage keys above; there is no cookie-banner cookie.
Legal bases, retention and your rights
This page describes the implemented opt-out loading behavior; it does not claim that ignoring a notice constitutes legally valid consent where prior permission is required. Use Reject to object to measurement, session recording and advertising. We keep server and analytics data only as long as needed to answer the question it was collected for, and vendor retention is determined by each vendor's policy; approximate cookie lifetimes above are not a promise of deletion of provider-held data. You can ask what is held about you, request correction or deletion, or object to processing by emailing [email protected]. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority. Deleting mc_consent and mc_socialbar_closed in your browser resets this site's own state.
Personalised advertising and opt-outs
Adsterra may personalise creative using cookie or device signals. You can turn that off by pressing Reject here, which stops the placements from loading at all. Industry-wide controls are also available: Google My Ad Center, Your Online Choices and Network Advertising Initiative opt-out. These are external preference tools, not additional vendors on this site. Do Not Track is not honoured as a separate signal; Global Privacy Control is, and it forces Reject.
Changes
Changes are posted on this URL with a new date. If a vendor is added or removed, this page and the notice are updated in the same release. The configured providers are the four named above. Ad creatives, Clarity delivery and YouTube playback can contact those providers' delivery partners; fonts and guide images are self-hosted.
FAQ
Do you sell personal data?
No. The site has no account, no checkout and no contact form. It uses the four third parties named below; YouTube waits for a video click. This site stores one consent choice plus one Social Bar dismissal flag in your browser. Mail you send is ordinary email to the operator.
How do I turn the ads and recording off?
Press Reject in the cookie notice, or open Cookie settings in the footer and press Reject. The choice is stored for 180 days, removes the Adsterra placements and the Clarity recorder on that page view, and stops later page views from loading them. Clearing site data also removes the choice.
Does the site work without JavaScript or with an ad blocker?
Yes. The puzzle, archive and guides are static HTML. The ad slot stays empty, Clarity and Adsterra are never created, and the page still works. Google Analytics 4 is the only script tag in the HTML and is governed by Consent Mode.
